What is Integrative Medicine?

It is a composite system employing modalities from all the medical disciplines to arrive at a diagnosis and therapy for the well being and healing of the patient.

How is it implemented?

We complement conventional therapies with oral and parental nutrition, homeopathy, naturopathy, acupuncture, and biological response modification, immune and endocrine system modulators. The integration of proven medical and biological care currently produces the best results in our combat against challenging diseases.

What types of examinations and testing must be done prior to beginning chelation therapy?

Prior to commencing a course of chelation therapy a complete medical history is obtained. Diet is analyzed for nutritional adequacy and balance. Copies of pertinent medical records and summaries of hospital admissions may be sent for. A thorough head-to-toe, hands-on physical examination will be performed. A complete list of current medications will be recorded, including the time and strength of each dose. Special note will be made of any allergies.

Blood and urine specimens will be obtained in a battery of tests to insure that no conditions exist which may be worsened by chelation therapy. Kidney function will be carefully assessed. An electrocardiogram is usually obtained. Noninvasive tests will be performed, as medically indicated, to determine the status of arterial blood flow prior to therapy. A consultation with other medical specialists may be requested.

How many chelation treatments are required?

Chelation for vascular problems vary from 20 to 30 EDTA treatments. Chelation for heavy metals is monitored and reevaluated after 10 chelation treatment intervals. Each patient's program can be individually tailored to meet a variety of needs.

Is chelation therapy safe?

Chelation therapy is one of the safest of medical procedures. It is administered and monitored by a licensed physician. Over 400,000 clients have received over four million treatments in the last 30 years, proving the treatment to be not only effective but safe.

Are there any side effects?

As with many medical or drug therapies, side effects are always possible, but these, if they do occur, are minor: vein irritation, mild pain, headaches, etc., and are easily controlled by adjusting the duration and frequency of treatment, or by using other simple measures. Even these side effects tend to diminish after the first few treatments. Most patients, however, experience few or no side effects.

When will I start to feel the benefits of chelation therapy?

This will vary according to the individual. Minor health improvements occur almost immediately, while major ones may take a few months. Some patients even see dramatic results after a few weeks.

Can anyone administer chelation therapy?

Only a licensed physician can administer chelation therapy. Also, a licensed professional should always be present during the entire chelation process.

Can chelation therapy be used after bypass surgery?

Absolutely. Many clients who have had one or more bypass procedures, with little or no result, have benefited greatly from chelation therapy.

Can I stop taking chelation therapy anytime I want to, or must I have all the treatments?

While it is recommended that one take the whole series of chelation treatments for optimal health and the complete cleansing of the entire vascular system, a client can take as many treatments as he or she wants and stop at any time. Every treatment produces some benefit.
